Warranty Terms & Conditions

SRG Ply warrants each eligible SRG Product for the warranty period stated for that brand and grade, from the date of invoice, against termite and wood borer infestation, subject to the terms and conditions of this warranty as follows. Tap any clause to read it in full.

Every warranty claim needs the original purchase invoice. It must clearly show all four:

Date of purchase

Day, month and year

Without the original invoice, or if any of these details are missing or illegible, the claim cannot be processed.

1. Scope of the limited warranty

SRG Ply provides a limited warranty on eligible SRG Products for the warranty period specifically stated for the respective brand/product. The applicable warranty period, grade, product specification and Indian Standard (IS) code shall be those stated, marked or specified for the respective SRG Product.

The warranty shall apply only to the performance characteristics covered under the warranty for the respective SRG Product. Any technical assessment shall be carried out with reference to the applicable BIS requirements and IS code stated or marked for that SRG Product, including the relevant requirements, permissible tolerances and prescribed test methods under such standard.

 Where an SRG Product is represented as Termite & Borer Resistant, such representation refers to the preservative treatment applied during manufacture to enhance resistance against termite and borer damage. “Resistant” does not mean “termite proof”, “borer proof” or absolute immunity from termites or borers under all site, environmental or usage conditions.
The presence of termites or borers on, around or in contact with an SRG Product shall not, by itself, constitute product failure. A warranty claim relating to termites or borers shall arise only where physical inspection and/or testing establishes actual damage to the SRG Product caused by termite or borer feeding, and all other conditions of this warranty have been satisfied.
This warranty shall be valid only where the relevant furniture, fixture, installation or application uses SRG Products exclusively as its wood panel material. The warranty shall become void where an SRG Product is combined, fabricated, installed or used with any other brand’s plywood, blockboard, MDF, HDF, particle board, or any other wood panel product of another brand/manufacturer, or untreated timber, irrespective of whether the source of any termite, borer or other infestation can subsequently be attributed to such other material.

Upon receipt of a warranty complaint, SRG Ply shall be entitled to depute an authorised representative to inspect the allegedly affected SRG Product at the location where it has been stored, fabricated, installed or used. The purchaser/owner shall provide reasonable access to the affected SRG Product and surrounding installation and shall furnish the original invoice, cash memo or other acceptable proof of purchase issued by SRG Ply or an authorised SRG dealer.

The allegedly affected SRG Product shall not be removed, repaired, replaced, destroyed or materially altered before inspection by SRG Ply, except where reasonably necessary for safety or with the prior consent of SRG Ply. Failure to retain the affected SRG Product or provide reasonable access for inspection may result in rejection of the contractual warranty claim where SRG Ply is unable to properly verify the nature or cause of the alleged damage.
This warranty applies exclusively to genuine SRG Products manufactured by SRG Ply. SRG Ply shall be entitled to verify authenticity through the SRG hologram, product markings, batch/manufacturing details, invoice, physical characteristics and/or any other applicable identification method. Where authenticity cannot reasonably be established, SRG Ply shall be entitled to reject the contractual warranty claim.
SRG Ply shall be entitled to take representative samples from the allegedly affected SRG Product for physical, chemical and/or laboratory examination to determine product authenticity, nature and cause of damage, product condition and, where applicable, conformity with the relevant product specification. Such examination may be undertaken at the SRG laboratory and/or a BIS-recognised/empanelled or other appropriately accredited laboratory, where SRG Ply considers independent testing necessary.
Where technical testing is required to assess a claim that is otherwise covered under this warranty, the technical parameters relevant to the specific alleged defect shall be evaluated with reference to the applicable BIS standard, IS code, product specification and prescribed test method for the respective SRG Product. Reference to any BIS standard or IS code is solely for the purpose of technical assessment and shall not be construed as extending this warranty to every requirement, parameter or characteristic contained in such standard. A variation within the permissible limits applicable to the relevant tested parameter shall not constitute a defect for the purpose of such claim.
This warranty shall not apply where the claimed damage or failure arises from or is associated with normal wear and tear; improper storage, handling or transportation after delivery; improper fabrication, installation or workmanship; misuse, alteration or modification; incorrect or unsuitable application; use of an inappropriate grade of SRG Product; or failure to follow the intended application, instructions or precautions applicable to the SRG Product.

This warranty shall also not apply where the claimed damage or failure arises from or is associated with prolonged or abnormal exposure to water, waterlogging, leakage, seepage, excessive dampness or moisture; structural or plumbing defects; environmental conditions inappropriate for the applicable grade of SRG Product; lack of reasonable maintenance; pre-existing or severe termite, borer or other pest infestation at the premises; or circumstances outside the reasonable control of SRG Ply.

Where, following inspection and/or testing, SRG Ply accepts a claim under this warranty, SRG Ply’s sole contractual obligation shall be replacement of only the actual quantity of affected SRG Product verified and accepted by SRG Ply as covered under the warranty. Where the original SRG Product is no longer manufactured or commercially available, SRG Ply may provide the nearest equivalent SRG Product as replacement.

Under no circumstances shall this contractual warranty extend to replacement, reimbursement or payment for anything other than the verified affected SRG Product itself. This includes, without limitation, finished furniture or fixtures, laminates, veneers, decorative surfaces, timber, other panel products, hardware, fittings, adhesives, accessories, polishing, painting, finishing, fabrication, carpenter charges, labour, dismantling, removal, transportation, installation, reinstallation, civil works, interior works or restoration. No cash reimbursement or financial settlement shall be payable in lieu of replacement except where expressly agreed in writing by SRG Ply or required under applicable law.

SRG Ply shall not be liable under this contractual warranty for damage to any other property, material or finished product in which the SRG Product has been incorporated or with which it has come into contact, nor for any indirect, incidental, special, commercial or consequential loss, including loss of use, loss of business or loss of profit, to the extent such limitation is permitted under applicable law.

No dealer, distributor, retailer, architect, interior designer, contractor, carpenter, installer, employee, agent or other third party is authorised to alter, enlarge or extend this warranty unless specifically authorised in writing by SRG Ply. Each warranty claim shall be assessed based on the applicable SRG Product, warranty period, IS code, proof of purchase, product authenticity, physical inspection, site and installation conditions and, where required, laboratory examination. These Terms & Conditions define the scope of the voluntary contractual warranty offered by SRG Ply and shall be governed by the applicable laws of India. Nothing herein is intended to exclude or restrict any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under applicable law.
